Finnish Double Bass Society
The Finnish Double Bass Society was established in the year 1976. It was those years as the french horn players in Finland had founded their own association, soon followed by other groups of instrumentalists.
Nowadays to the activities of the Finnish Double Bass Society include the annual concerts, which take place every autumn in different towns in Finland. Another remarkable form of activity is the magazine "Kontra-C", which is issued four times a year, reporting about topics concerning persons, phenomena and happenings around the double bass.
The sheet music library, which contains orchestral accompaniments for soloistic double bass works and chamber music with the double bass, is available to the members.
The Finnish Double Bass Society also arranges master classes, concerts and other happenings related to the double bass or in some other way gathering the members.
